Once upon a time, in the beautiful country of Colombia, people decided that dads deserved a special day full of surprises and joy.

It all started thanks to a very ingenious woman named Sonora Smart Dodd, who lived in a faraway place called the United States. Sonora thought dads were so awesome that they needed their own holiday, just like moms.

So, in 1910, Sonora had a brilliant idea: create Father’s Day! The idea was so great that it quickly spread throughout the world, and reached Colombia.

Here, Colombians decided that the third Sunday in June would be the perfect day to celebrate dads. And why that day? Because it was after the coffee harvest, and that meant everyone could relax and enjoy themselves as a family.

Every year, on this special day, boys and girls from all over Colombia become little artists and chefs. They make colorful cards, prepare delicious breakfasts and give their parents huge hugs.

And so, in Colombia, Father’s Day is celebrated with laughter, games and a lot of affection, making every dad feel like a superhero. Happy Father’s Day!
