According to the results of a study carried out by the Universidad del Rosario, the survey firm Cifras y Conceptos, Time and the Hanns Seidel Foundation, young people in Colombia have a political affinity with the center and the right.
The survey was carried out on 2,010 young people between 18 and 32 years old, who were consulted about what they feel and want in Colombia at a political level.

According to the results, young people feel greater affinity with the center’s ideas, because it had a preference of 54%.
The right, for its part, was in second position with 28% approval, while the left ideology has 18% support.
“This has been happening paradoxically after the measurement in May 2021, when the events related to the social outbreak had just happened. Before this, more young people identified as left-wing than right-wing. This is due, in my view, to the fact that there is an ethereal and gaseous political center“said Carlos Charry, director of the doctorate and master’s degree in Social Studies at the Universidad del Rosario.
When asked about the Constitution, 56% of young people stated that they had a favorable perception of the Magna Carta. 23% of those surveyed have an unfavorable image, while 21% said they were indifferent.
“The results of this survey show us that the young people surveyed have a more favorable perception of the Constitution than the general population that was measured following the 30 years of the Constitution in 2021,” said Charry. Furthermore, she recalled that “It was a quite complex year due to the issue of the social outbreak and that had the prominence of young people”.
The director of the doctorate and master’s degree in Social Studies at the Universidad del Rosario also stated that “despite this lack of knowledge of the implications of what a national constituent assembly is, young people in Colombia today have a favorable image and want the Constitution is fulfilled.”
For his part, César Caballero, manager of the polling firm Cifras y Conceptos, He indicated that the results show that young people value the 1991 Constitution.
“There is no environment and the need for a national constituent assembly is not seen. That is clear in these results. If you look at a single question, it seems that there is a division, but when you look at the three there is no environment for a general reform of the Constitution,” said César Caballero.

In another survey by the firm Cifras y Conceptos, it was measured how opinion behaves around the Petro Government for the first half of the year. In this measurement, data were collected from 1,607 surveys carried out on adults in the main cities of the country, between May 30 and June 10.
The results showed a deterioration in the image of President Petro. The favorable perception of the president stood at 38%, four points less than what he had in February, according to the Polimetric survey history of the same firm.
73% of the people consulted by the survey indicated that the recent corruption scandals that have involved national government officials have negatively impacted the image of President Petro. 66% of those who indicated that it does affect perception, They have a bad opinion about the president, while 32% maintain a positive position.
Vice President Francia Márquez also maintains a high negative image. According to the results of the Polimetric survey, 65% of people have an unfavorable perception of the official and only 29% have a favorable one.
