In the municipality of Pueblo Bello, the Government of Cesar, advances the delivery of 7,421 food baskets to guarantee nutritional support to the same number of children during vacations, mostly indigenous, in the rural and urban areas of this town.

The delivery of the food kits They are carried out by the operator that executes the School Feeding Program, benefiting the boys, girls and young people of 80 locations of educational institutions, five of them in the urban capital and 75 in the rural part, so that they receive the food prepared at home during the holiday break.

“We are delivering these food baskets so that 7,421 children in Beautiful Town They can have the nutritional contribution service in their own homes during the vacation period. This community was selected by the School Feeding Administrative Unit,” said the Secretary of Education of Cesar, Yasmín Rocío García.

After receiving the food baskets, parents and the student community highlighted the importance of continuing with the school feeding process at home, during the time that students are on vacation. “Thanks to the Government of Cesar for everything it has done for us, for these foods for our children, we hope that this strategy continues for the well-being of our families,” said Lesly Arias Torres, mother of the family.

For her part, Jenny Patricia Zúñiga, from the Kankuama ethnic group, and mother of three children, said that “these products that they give us will contribute to the nutrition of our children, to continue in good condition towards better learning.”

The rector of the Educational Institution of the Minas de Iracal district, of Pueblo Bello, Carlos Eduardo Tafur, pointed out that “They are families with limited resources that needed this help, especially because they live in very distant areas, in dispersed areas, and they require these food to return to school with good nutrition.”

The food baskets contain cereals, proteins, vegetables, fruits, oil, among other products that are the raw materials to guarantee good nutrition during the school break.

“These baskets contain all the food necessary for the nutritional contribution that each child needs according to their ages,” said Octavio Lafont, coordinator of the School Feeding Program in the department of Cesar.
