The investigation of the femicide of María Susana Altamirano that shocks Paraná, was able to establish that the woman and the murderer contacted each other through social networks, on Saturday Miguel Eugenio Pellegrini picked her up, they went for a walk in the Diamante area and stopped among a grove of trees on the side of Route 131 where he killed her.
On Friday, June 7, Susana had a day with the usual routine: she did her things, went to work looking after children in a house, met with family and loved ones and returned to her home in the Bajada Grande area.
As reconstructed and published Digital Analysis, through a social network, a few days before, contacted Pellegrini and they agreed to meet on Saturday. The man from Viale traveled to Paraná in his Fiat Palio car, picked her up and they went for a walk towards Diamante, perhaps through the Pre Delta and surrounding areas, according to the signals from their cell phones recorded by the telephone antennas of the zone.
According to the evidence that has been gathered so far in the case of the femicide of Susana Altamirano, both through the work of Investigations and the material analyzed by Criminal Intelligence, the main hypothesis considers that they then drove along Route 131 from the intersection with Route 11 in Diamante towards Crespo. The margins of the route are all fields and quite clear. Passing Libertador San Martín and a few kilometers from Crespo, they stopped on the side of the asphalt, where there is a slope in the terrain and a grove of trees nearby. So, investigators believe they went there, the place where Pellegrini decided to murder María Susana.

Throughout the weekend, no one had been able to contact the woman. Despair was growing among the relatives who decided to file a complaint on Monday. The Prosecutor’s Office issued the usual location request for when seeking to determine someone’s whereabouts. The Human Trafficking Division of the Police Investigations Directorate began with the rigorous investigations and suspicions immediately arose that this was not a person who had left of his own free will: he had never done so and neither had any situations arisen to for María Susana to walk away.
They were able to access the woman’s social networks and Pellegrini soon became the main suspect. The contacts they had maintained on social networks and the agreement to meet on Saturday were observed. Nobody in María Susana’s environment knew him. Urgent information was requested about the location of both of their cell phones and thus, with the impacts of the signals on the antenna cells, they were able to reconstruct their locations in time and the route to Diamante.
In turn, the 911 cameras helped record the places where Pellegrini’s vehicle traveled and provided several images that will be key to the case.
The analysis of all the material justified the deployment with police, tracking dogs, patrol cars and horses that was concentrated along Route 131. They approached and with the naked eye, at 5 p.m. this Wednesday, they were able to see María Susana’s body. The forensic doctor who worked at the scene, at first glance, observed signs of hanging as the cause of her death.
Shortly before, Justice had ordered the search of Pellegrini’s home in the city of Viale as well as the seizure of the car. The man was detained and did not resist.
An unplanned femicide
Pellegrini has a history of acts of gender violence, not against couples but against circumstantial victims. Attempts at sexual abuse and kidnapping on the street, through which he instilled fear in Viale. He had had precautionary measures for a while but they never convicted him. In the registry of the Judiciary there appears a case opening from August 18, 2019 for “Illegitimate deprivation of liberty.”
Investigators believe it was not a planned murder. There was no motive for the robbery (the woman lived humbly and had no valuables). They believe, as a main hypothesis, that it was an action at that moment through which he decided to end María Susana’s life.
Not even Pellegrini sought to hide the victim’s body. “If she took him 200 meters into the field, we wouldn’t find her anymore,” reflected a person working on the case.
