Students and teachers of the Habitat Faculty from the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí (UASLP) who are against the imposition of director Rosa María Reyes Moreno, took their protest to the streets.
On June 5th, University Board of Directors (CDU), carried out the election process in 19 faculties, among which there were re-elected directors, one of them was Rosa María Reyes Moreno in the Faculty of Habitat, who was not in the shortlist proposed by the Technical Council; This situation caused dissatisfaction among students and teachers, who denounced the violation of article 82 of the Statute and took over the Faculty facilities.
After 13 days of taking over the facilities, this Sunday the protest moved to the streets with a demonstration made up mainly of students who They marched along Carranza Avenue, from the Tequis garden to the Central Building.
In this regard, Michelle Guerra Gámez, president of the Student Societyexplained that during these two weeks there has been no real approach by the Rector or other university authority to seek a solution, only the Secretary General attended on one occasion, the other visit was that of the general lawyer Urenda Queletzú Navarro, but with no one There was agreement between the two.

He commented that There are around 60 students who have made the Faculty their homethere they eat and sleep, although they take shifts since several of them also work to pay for their studies, as he recalled that “our Faculty is one of the most expensive”, hence one of the disagreements is that despite the fees they pay, These are not reflected in improvements in the institution.
He pointed out that the march was held with the intention that former students who have expressed their support could join, in addition to making this problem known to Potosí society, in which he denied that “joints” are involved as has been accused by the University. .
Students and teachers demand a change in the Faculty because they accuse that the director has not known how to take the reins of the academic entity, even there is no order in the assignment of subjects to teachersin addition to the mistreatment that students receive.
During the march they shouted slogans against the director and the Rector, and when they arrived at the Central Building they hung canvas and banners in the windows, in addition to sticking some on the main door as a “closure”, and warned that the one who has been baptized as “Movement 82” will not stop until they are heard.
