The Chile Cup 2024 officially started this weekend with the round of 16 of the zonal phases, and this Sunday it happened one of the big hits in the North Zone of the contest.
On the field of the Regional de Los Andes it was Trasandino the one who gave the blow and eliminated Deportes La Serenaprematurely leaving the current leader of the Primera B of Chilean football out of the way.
During the 90′ minutes the goals were scored by Luis Felipe Salazar at 38′ minutes for the ‘Cóndor’. Then, the ‘Papayero’ team managed to partially come back with a double from Lionel Altamirano at 55′ and 79′, but the locals ended up putting parity again thanks to César González, at 83′.
Thus, everything was decided from the penalty kicks, in which ‘Tra Tra’ won 4-3 and took advantage of the missed throws by Sebastián Gallegos and Enzo Guerrero in the ‘Maroon’.

Before this meeting, the present of the cast of Los Andes was not the most auspicious because they are in the last place in the Second Division tournament. After 13 games played, they are bottom with only eight points, complicating their presence for the second part of the year.
Despite this, Trasandino smiles thanks to the Chile Cup by reaching the quarterfinals, where he will await a rival between the winner of the Coquimbo series and Brujas de Salamanca.
