On the afternoon of Saturday, June 15, an attack was recorded against a former member of the United Self-Defense Forces of Colombia (AUC), when he was being dropped off at his office located on Calle 127 and Carrera 7a, north of Bogotá.

Apparently the hitman was following him and when he found the opportunity, he shot him with a gun with a silencer. In the midst of the chaos and confusion, his bodyguards reacted, managing to wound the criminal and thus capture him.

“Attack against a protected member of the National Protection Unit in Bogotá, the aggressor captured. Both the beneficiary and the hitman are injured and are in a hospital. The information was processed by the Vida 103 line, explained the UNP.

The protected victim of the attack was identified as Wilson de las Salas Enriquez, alias ‘El Sargento’, a demobilized ex-military member of the AUC who seeks to track the benefits of Justice and Peace where he has been giving testimony.

For his part, as reported by Lieutenant Colonel Edwin Díaz of the Bogotá Metropolitan Police, the hitman records notes for the crime of aggravated and qualified robbery, which is pending.
