Luis David Ospino was required by court order for the crime of feminicide and aggravated robbery.

Personnel from the Sijin Criminal Investigation Section, in coordination with the SEPRO Basic Investigation Unit, managed to capture Luis David Ospino, in the municipality of La Jagua de Ibirico, Cesar, who was required by court order for the crime of feminicide and aggravated robbery.

Ospino would be linked to the femicide of Diana Patricia Cuello, 47, which occurred in the Divino Niño neighborhood in Valledupar, which occurred on February 23, 2023, and for which the captured person would have pleaded guilty.

Ospino had confessed to the murder before the Venezuelan authorities in a video, indicating that he was hired by Anuar Rafael Cabarcas, the victim’s ex-partner, in exchange for 20 million pesos. The confession came after his capture in Venezuela for domestic violence, although at that time he did not have a valid arrest warrant in Colombia and had been released.

At the time of the capture, a knife-type weapon was seized from Ospino. “He (Diana’s ex-partner) had threatened me and gave me that order in exchange for me keeping the televisions and things in the house,” Ospino said at the time of confessing to the crime.

As will be remembered, Diana Patricia’s body was found in a state of decomposition days after the murder by her relatives in her residence, after they tried to communicate with her and she did not answer their calls. Initially it was thought that the death would have occurred due to natural causes, since the victim had undergone open heart surgery; the autopsy showed that it was a homicide committed with a blunt brick-type object.
