In response to the arrest warrants, issued by the Third Municipal Criminal Court at the request of the specialized Prosecutor’s Office 8, Angello Javier Madariaga Madariaga and Óscar Arrieta Vega were captured, for their alleged connection with the murder of Luis Miguel Garzón Cerpa and Luis Fernando Garzón García (father and son), which occurred on December 28, 2023, on Via Verdecia in the municipality of Agustín Codazzi, Cesar.
The arrest warrants materialized in the permanent inspection of the Valledupar Police where those accused of the crime of extortion have been detained since February 2024.
This double homicide occurred specifically on the ‘Las Marías’ farm, where father and son received several gunshot wounds from alleged members of the AGC, who left a pamphlet in which they were accused of being extortionists. At the crime scene there was a motorcycle where the deceased were supposedly riding.
It was established that the murdered people were dedicated to various jobs and resided in the 5 de Diciembre neighborhood of the municipality of Codazzi, Cesar.
