The Ombudsman’s Office, through the Antioquia Regional, carried out a busy day of Advocacy in your Community in the municipality of San Pedro de los Milagros, where more than 500 people benefited of different services and activities.

Nearly 50 officials from the Ombudsman’s Office participated in the event, providing professional, timely and agile attention to users. The activity was carried out thanks to the coordination with several institutions, among them, the Mayor’s Office of San Pedro de los Milagros.

Likewise, hundreds of citizens participated in the vaccination day and prevention of yellow fever and influenza organized by the San Pedro de los Milagros hospital. In addition, several Health Promotion Entities (EPS) were present, including Savia Salud, Nueva EPS and Salud Total.

The Antioquia Regional took the opportunity to hold meetings with representatives of the Municipality’s Mayor’s Office, the Person’s Office and the Colombian Institute of Family Welfare, in order to analyze issues related to the situation of children and adolescents in the region, especially , compared to what concerns sexual exploitation, recruitment, health and education. In the same way, a meeting was held with the cabinet and secretaries of the mayor’s office to discuss the violation of the rights of the inhabitants and border issues.

Training was provided to observers and residents of the municipality on issues related to the role of the Ombudsman in the protection, promotion and dissemination of human rights, as well as the defense and guarantee of the rights of children and adolescents and the management of social conflict. .

In line with the mission of the Ombudsman’s Office, and in conjunction with the Government of Antioquia, more than 100 animals were treated by veterinarians and received deworming and vaccination procedures.

Finally, with the help of the Mayor’s Office of San Pedro de los Milagros A Community Pot was offered and the Humanitarian Tent was installed of attention to the migrant population, where different services were provided to this population group. The day also featured music and cultural events, developed for the benefit of the entire community.
