The tragic incident took place on May 5, 2013 in the center of Yopal. At that time the accused was still a professional soldier, it was then that He attacked his wife with a sharp weapon, fatally wounding her in the neck.
The Prosecutor’s Office managed to demonstrate forcefully that the current convict was the author of the murder, which resulted in his indictment for aggravated homicide.
Said sentence establishes that the sentence must be served in a penitentiary center. Furthermore, the judge disqualified him from holding public office for 20 years.

Regarding the municipalities with the most reports to the Epidemiological Surveillance System, they are Yopal with 983 cases (municipality with more cases of violence recorded), followed by Aguazul with 163, Paz de Ariporo with 161, Maní with 139, Villanueva with 128 and Tauramena with 113.
