The complaint about the dumping of wastewater was made by councilor Miguel Martínez, who stated, “Upon arriving at Rodadero, the first thing tourists see are the wastewater dumped through the streets that generate bad odors and a terrible image of the city. ”said the Councilor.

“The flow of these wastes goes directly towards the rodadero beach, and pollutes the bay where today tourists and residents of the city of Santa Marta are bathing, exposing themselves to respiratory and skin diseases, and countless other incidents.” that affect the image of our city,” said Miguel Martínez, councilor of Santa Marta.

The complaints in the tourism sector continued from lobbyist Howard Escárraga, who showed the situation experienced by merchants and tourists who visit the Camellón del Rodadero, which is without electricity, making it difficult for the businessmen who operate in this place to sell. The councilor assured that the site has been without electricity service for several days, harming tourist activity in the area.

“This is the Camellón del Rodadero sector, on July 5 it was without electricity and currently today, June 17, it is still without electricity, they have been without electricity for more than 15 days, the merchants in the sector daily send me videos complaining about the situation and today I ask Essmar to put the lights in the sector into operation,” said Howard Escárraga, councilor of Santa Marta.

The lobbyists expressed their concern about the occupation of public space by street vendors who are not accredited by the District. Given this situation and the previous ones described in the note, Councilor Alejandra Santos stated that she would prepare a proposal in the coming days to Carry out a political control debate to solve the problems.
