This Tuesday, June 18, was the first day of virtual registration to access the discount on the School Ticket that includes students and teachers. The authorities reported that 15,000 people signed up and of this total there are more than 13,000 students who requested the transportation scholarship for 100% of the ticket price.

In contact with HUARPE DIARYFabricio Echegaray, Secretary of Digital Transformation and Modernization of the State, explained that on the first day alone more than 15,000 people signed up and added that of this total, 9% correspond to teaching workers from different schools, private colleges and universities.

This implies that, until the time of writing this note, there are around 1,350 teachers who signed up to access the Teacher School Ticket, which will have a value of $280, which is equivalent to half the price of the trip in the first section that within In a few days it will reach the price of $560.

In the case of students on the first day, whose ticket is expected to cost $187, 13,650 applicants signed up. Echegaray explained that 100% of these people, in addition to registering as students, also applied to receive a transportation scholarship that will cover 100% of all trips with a school ticket that the student makes.

The specialist also reminded that people who wish to register in the Boleto Escolar system must access the site www.boletoescolar.gob.ar. There you will find a web form in which both students from the different educational levels of public and private institutions and the teachers who work there must register.

The specialist clarified that in the case of students under 16 years of age, their parents must write them down. To do this, they have to fill out the “applicant data” item with their data and in the “beneficiary data” section they must enter the information about the student. The case is different, students over 16 years of age must enter the same information in the applicant and beneficiary data categories.

He added that this total of registered people represents half of the total universe of possible applicants. The Single Electronic Ticket System (SUBE) has recorded a total of approximately 30,000 transactions considered School Tickets, which includes students and teachers.

How the process continues

Echegaray clarified that once the applicant enters the form and fills it out with their data, they should receive a message on the screen confirming that they completed the registration correctly. Added to this is that in the coming days they will also send an email to the box that the beneficiary declared when registering.

“Then the user will not have to do anything else,” clarified Echegaray, who added that the Government will be in charge of carrying out the controls to verify that the applicant is really a student or teaching worker. For this, we will work in coordination with the Ministry of Education databases to find out if the applicant really belongs to the institution that he declared in the form.

In the case of applicants who work or study in institutions that depend on universities, higher education institutions will also be asked to confirm whether the person who signed up to pay for the school ticket really belongs to where they declared.

Once the data is confirmed, the authorities will inform SUBE that the applicant in question must access the Boleto Escolar and from that moment the beneficiary will be able to access four daily tickets during school hours from Monday to Friday.

Echegaray explained that “for a time, both students and teachers will be allowed to board the bus with their school ID until the system is operational and all SUBEs have registered the students or teachers who must pay the School Ticket.”

About scholarships

On the other hand, the Minister of Government, Laura Palma, spoke with HUARPE DIARY on transportation scholarships that provide for full payment of the school ticket for students who live in a situation of social vulnerability. And he explained that it is planned to deliver a total of 10,000 scholarships that involve a disbursement of $150 million, which is added to the subsidy for the bus transportation system that the Nation stopped paying for and that the Province contributes for transfers.

Likewise, Palma explained that although they are working with an estimate of 10,000 scholarships, this number could be increased. “If the time comes when it is seen that there are really many people left outside and that they meet the requirements, the possibility of extending it to the largest number will be evaluated.

The minister explained that this total of 10,000 scholarship recipients represents a third of the passengers and said “that is not small.” She added that there is a possibility that people who do not need the scholarship will sign up, but she recalled that this benefit “is for low-income people who have no other way to get to school.”
