On the occasion of Flag Day, this June 20, there will be events in different parts of Neuquén. Governor R.Oland Figueroa will be in San Martín de los Andes.
According to reports from the Province, Figueroa will participate at noon in an event in the mountain town. Among the activities there will be the promise to the flag of the Police cadets. It will take place at the Chacra 2 Sports Complex – Javier Carriqueo Municipal Stadium.
In Neuquén capital, the mayor Mariano Gaido will attend a formal event at the Gigante del Este sports center. It will be without a promise to the flag. The security forces and Malvinas veterans will participate and a folkloric day, hot chocolate, fried cakes and pastries will be shared with the neighbors who come to the property.
“It is a day of reflection to also think about the values that the flag implies, and we have to keep in mind that we must defend sovereignty, democracy, and federalism. Today more than ever, we Neuquéns have to defend our resources, what is ours, so it is a very important day,” said the Chief of Staff Secretary, María Pasqualini.
Parade in Centennial for Flag Day
From the Municipality of Centenario announced that the celebrations for Flag Day will be in the Bicentennial Plaza starting at 2:00 p.m. There the promise and swearing-in ceremony will be held for fourth grade students, volunteer firefighters, the “Don’t forget me” grandparents club, the Compromiso Civil Association and the EPA 8.
To start the celebrations, the gaucho group “Islas Malvinas” will hold a parade wearing the national flag that will be hoisted on the main mast.
Andacollo with the longest flag
From the Municipality of Andacollo they pointed out that the record of 345 meters achieved in the last two years by the national flag was left behind. Today was exceeded and the flag was more than 400 meters long,
Mayor Manuel San Martín delivered to the authorities of the Evangelical Rural Community Center the Declaration of Municipal Interest for the Display of the Flag, recently sanctioned by the local Deliberative Council at the request of the community leader himself.
