This Wednesday morning, Tropical Storm Alberto formed in the southeastern Gulf of Mexico, the first cyclonic organism of the 2024 season.

This system has maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour and a minimum central pressure of 995 hectoPascal.

At eleven in the morning, Alberto had its center located at 22.2 degrees north latitude and 95.0 degrees west longitude, a position that places it about 300 kilometers east of Tampico, Mexico.

It is moving on a course close to the west at a rate of 15 kilometers per hour.

In the next 12 to 24 hours, Tropical Storm Alberto will continue on a similar course and with little change in speed, but it will gain a little more organization before entering Mexican territory, when it should experience rapid weakening.

The next tropical cyclone warning about this system will be issued at six p.m. this Wednesday.
