They declared the 37th Meeting of Women and Dissidents in Jujuy of legislative interest – Jujuy

Last Friday, the organizing committee of the 37th Plurinational Meeting of Women, Lesbians, Trans, Transvestites, Bisexuals, Intersex and Non-Binary presented a document to the Legislature requesting that the event be declared of legislative interest, obtaining a favorable response from the Jujuy Legislature.

Under Resolution No. 92, the organization pointed out the relevance of the meeting that will take place on October 11, 12 and 13 and will have Jujuy as its headquarters for the third time.

“The election of Jujuy highlights the history of the local women’s and dissident movement, which has been the protagonist since its beginnings in the fight for the expansion of rights, to achieve new legislation, confronting and making visible patriarchal violence and which has been part of the torrent that in the province has been fighting, among others, for the defense of natural resources and to have a dignified life,” stated part of the document delivered to the provincial parliament.

Along the same lines, the Legislature recognizes that the event is an opportunity to make visible the demands and needs of the sector, in addition to contributing to the strengthening of the network of organizations that fight for gender equality, as expressed by the organizing commission.

It is expected that the activities that will take place during the three days that the event will last will attract around 100 thousand people, so the organization has been carrying out different actions to raise funds and thus be able to cover the expenses involved in the development of the meeting. .
