On this Wednesday morning, a fire of great proportions was unleashed in a living place located at the intersection of Terrada and Cabo San Juan streets, in the department of Godoy Cruz. At least two fire crews, one from the Central Headquarters and another from the Volunteer Firefighters of that department, are working intensely to control the fire.

Neighbors reported that they heard an explosion before noticing the fire, but this information has not yet been confirmed by the authorities. Firefighters focused on putting out the flames and preventing the fire from spreading to nearby homes, a task that is made difficult by the intensity of the fire and the weather conditions of the day.
Emergency crews cordoned off the area to ensure the safety of residents and allow firefighters to work uninterrupted. Authorities urged residents to remain calm and avoid approaching the scene of the accident.
The Chief of the Volunteer Firefighters Godoy Cruz, who is coordinating the work on the ground, declared that the origin of the fire and that more information will be provided as cooling and debris removal efforts progress.
At the moment, the joint work of the different firefighting teams is managing to contain the fire, although operations could last until midday.
