“Read the ingredients of this food and consult with your waiter.” This is the message that can be read on the menu of the Sevillian restaurant Mönkey Food that precedes the ‘Dalsi Burger’, a burger that has recently sparked controversy on social networks.

Dalsy flavor, but without containing medicine

Two pattys of matured beef, black angus bacon, smoked white cheddar cheese, bacon cheese ointment “with hints of barbecue kikos and a mild Dalsy flavor” are the ingredients that make up this burger that you can taste for 14.95 euros. Of course, from the premises they remember that “it does not contain drugs.”

Beyond the ingredients, the presentation of this burger also draws attention when it is served inside a box with the inscription ‘Dalsi burger – Special recipe – orally’, imitating the spelling of the aforementioned syrup, with a syringe full of orange liquid injected .

However, different users on social networks have shown their disagreement with the evolution of the innovations that currently surround this food: “I just saw a video of a real Dalsy hamburger that Casa Manolo’s hamburgers are back at 2.50 with cheese, lettuce and tomato and I can’t stand modernity anymore, we have to go back to traditions,” says a user on X (formerly Twitter) in this regard.

‘Dalsi Burger’ has been presented for the ‘The Champions Burger’ championship, although it has not been confirmed if the controversial burger will be among the ‘food trucks’ that can be found at the Valladolid Trade Fair starting next June 27 .

Cheetos, Doritos or gold-covered burgers

In addition to the aforementioned syrup-flavored ‘burger’, the Sevillian burger restaurant with locations in Viapol, Santa Justa and Dos Hermanas has a history of dishes full of controversy, originality and a lot of ‘marketing’ in both its ingredients and presentation.

Proof of this are ‘Platanoes’ – «plated in 24 carat gold, with beef, bacon, cheddar cheese, black truffle; and limited to 20 units daily»- or ‘La Santa’, presented in a ceramic censer in the shape of a Nazarene and developed especially for Holy Week in the capital of Seville.

Other of his creations have been inventive by applying lotus cookies or snacks such as Doritos, Cheetos or Risketos to the sandwich. Original innovation or ‘culinary crime’?
