The municipality of Lago Puelo carried out intense work yesterday together with other local institutions in order to maintain walkability and access to different neighborhoods and places in the town, in the face of the intense snowfall that accumulated between 15 and 20 cm in various areas, without any emergency situations or evacuees being reported at the time of going to press.
Civil Protection and Municipal Traffic personnel carried out preventive tasks on main routes and roads in Lago Puelo, with some vehicle crashes occurring on Route 45 in Cerro Radal and in high alleys in the Las Golondrinas area, fortunately without any injuries being reported in these events.
On the high roads of the Las Golondrinas area, only four-wheel drive vehicles and the use of chains were allowed to circulate, due to the accumulation of snow, with sections also heavy due to mud and compacted snow.
Meanwhile, personnel from Public Works, Police and the General Directorate of Public Services of the Northwest of Chubut worked in some sectors of Route 16 and 45, among other areas, due to the fall of trees and branches on the road as well as on the lines. of tension, due to the weight of the snow (photo).
It was reported that electricity was normal in more than 95% of the municipal ejido of Lago Puelo, while work continued to restore service in its entirety.
Different municipal areas decided to set up permanent guards due to the prevailing weather conditions and the forecast of continued bad weather for this long weekend.
