The proposal is also accompanied by an Ordinance approved unanimously by the deliberative Council, which accounts for the actions of the state apparatus co-opted at all levels by the armed forces during the period 1976-1983 to execute a systematic plan to kidnap and detain people, especially militants, students and workers. It was in this context that the Perego brothers, who worked as loading and unloading workers at the La Plata Regional Market, were kidnapped and disappeared.

Alberto is the first missing person to recover his identity since the agreement was signed in 2022 between the Ministry of Health of the province of Buenos Aireshe Argentine Forensic Anthropology Team (EAAF) and the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights of the Nation.

Through the agreement, provincial public hospitals take blood samples from relatives of those missing from the last dictatorship, for subsequent analysis and comparison with some 600 skeletal remains found in common and individual graves that date from that time and still remain unidentified.
Alberto Perego was born on November 23, 1952 in Buenos Aires, he was a Peronist and Montonero militant. He worked as an employee at the La Plata Regional Market and was kidnapped on October 11, 1977, and since then he has joined the list of missing persons. He was able to be identified thanks to the fact that his son Omar went to have a sample taken at the Rossi Hospital in La Plata, in July 2022. His brother Carlos Damián Perego was 25 years old when he was kidnapped on July 29, 1976, along with three other neighbors who testify that the “Campo de Arana” was a clandestine detention center. Both worked in the Regional Market and were active in the “Churrasco” Basic Unit.
