The Government of the province, through the Secretariat of Emergencies and Risk Management and the Provincial Energy Entity of Neuquén (EPEN), work in coordination to restore the electrical service in the towns of northern Neuquén that were affected by the storm. snow.

EPEN personnel work tirelessly to fully restore electrical service throughout the provincial territory, managing to restore it in locations such as San Martín de los Andes and Villa La Angostura, among others. In the northern region, heavy snowfall makes the work of the teams in the territory very complex.

Meanwhile, the Emergency Secretariat sent a support team that includes two Road Safety vans, an ambulance from the SIEN and a snowmobile. In addition, Road Safety will escort a tracked truck tomorrow morning that will take the EPEN to the northern area.

Secretary Luciana Ortiz Luna explained “that the provincial body’s teams are working with extreme weather conditions, so we will have these teams to provide them with all the support they require so that they can fulfill their task” and added that “it was also coordinated with the Police the availability of two snowmobiles that will also accompany the work.”

Despite these difficulties, in the area near El Cholar only Vilu Mallín and the LMRT (Medium Voltage Line with Ground Return) that goes to the local repeater are without power. A 4×4 crane is expected to arrive from Loncopué tomorrow to carry out this work.

Villa del Nahueve, Cayanta and sectors of Las Ovejas, Manzano Amargo and Varvarco are still without electricity service. Los Miches and Guañacos managed to be supplied with generating equipment.
The main setbacks are related to fallen poles and cut drivers, in addition to the difficulties in reaching some more remote locations with machinery, despite the enormous work carried out by Provincial Roads together with the Police and Gendarmerie, among other organizations.

In the southern region, the service was fully restored, particularly in San Martín de los Andes and Villa La Angostura, two of the towns most affected by the storm.
