The Minister of National Security, Patricia Bullrichannounced through his official X account that he fired the Secretary of Security by “having tried to interfere in a bidding process for food services for the Federal Penitentiary Service”.

It is worth remembering that Vicente Ventura Barreiro was in Jujuy last month with a delegation of national officials from the Ministry of Security who came to the province to explore the hot zone between La Quiaca and Bolivia. Likewise, he indicated that the departure took place “for having attempted to interfere in a bidding process for food services for the Federal Penitentiary Service”. Furthermore, he noted that she did “the corresponding complaint to the Anti-Corruption Office so that it can intervene”.
“This tender for food services is an unprecedented process because it breaks with a monopoly of many years and allows more than 300 companies to participate, when historically a group of only 15 had been participating,” said the minister. Finally, she indicated that in “the management of President Javier Milei, transparency is our flag.”
Barreiro was also reported to the Anti-Corruption Office
In his message, Bullrich detailed that he also filed a complaint with the Anti-Corruption Office (OA) to investigate and take the necessary measures. “This tender for food services is considered an unprecedented process, since it breaks a monopoly of many years and opens participation to more than 300 companies, in contrast to the 15 that historically managed the service. “This change seeks to promote competition and transparency in public administration.”said.
