A raging fire broke out around 1:00 in the afternoon this Saturday, June 22, in a location located in the traditional Paseo de Bolívar, downtown Barranquilla, Atlántico.

The flames originated more specifically inside a sports tennis store called Okay Sportwear. In different videos that have gone viral on social networks and WhatsApp support groups, you can see how the fire consumes a large part of the place.

One of the witnesses said: “We were shopping when suddenly we saw the smoke and felt the heat. It was very worrying.”

According to the capitan Cipriano Bonilla, representative of the fire department that was in charge of the operation, at least four machines were needed to control the emergency. They arrived at the scene of the events from the Central Station, Citadel Station and 17.
