Three Corrientes towns celebrate today the popular patron saint’s day of Saint John the Baptist, the cousin of Jesus, a day dear to the feelings of Catholics around the world and especially in this region of the country that amalgamates expressions of popular, if not profane, religiosity, therefore which the Church warns of the need to focus on the essentials of the Christian Faith, of which precisely that “greatest of the prophets” was its precursor: adherence to the Person and message of Jesus, as believers profess.
The provincial capital, Ituzaingó and Garruchos with that spirit come to this festival of their Patron Saint, for whose celebration they have already carried out, in addition to the required Novena, various cultural, artistic, and sports activities, like so many other communities that share their patronage. in neighborhoods and rural areas.
