EL TIEMPO established that an elite group of the management of National Police Intelligence He located it in the La Tolda village of the Santo Domingo district, rural area of ​​Toribío (Cauca).

This newspaper learned for the first time that Police Intelligence provided the exact coordinates where the head of the dissidents was, and a Special Forces squad took two groups of snipers – also called high-precision shooters – to kill him.

According to the sources, the uniformed officers carried out the Calen VII operation, in which alias Fito actually died, designated as “sustain armed confrontations with the structures of the ELN and the ‘Second Marquetalia‘” for territorial control in the department that in recent days has been the scene of indiscriminate attacks on the civilian population and members of the Public Force.

‘Fito’ is accused of energizing and ordering criminal and monitoring activities against units of the Public Force for the materialization of terrorist actions in the department of Cauca.

A car bomb exploded last March in Corinto in front of the mayor’s office of this municipality in the north of Cauca, leaving more than 40 injured.

The criminal record of ‘Fito’

It is known from the alias Fito that ‘Dagoberto Ramos’ joined the front eight years ago, serving in the Mayimbú alias security component, died in a Public Force operation. He was accused of homicides, recruitment of minors, extortion, terrorist actions, manufacturing and trafficking of explosives and narcotics in the rural area of ​​Toribío and Corinto (Cauca).

He was also responsible for the terrorist action of March 26, 2021, through the activation of a car bomb against the mayor of Corinto (Cauca)leaving 43 injured, mostly public officials.

There is fear among the inhabitants of Corinto, Morales, Suárez and areas of northern Cauca due to harassment.

On June 4, 2021, he coordinated the homicide of National Police patrolmen Carlos Delgado Jiménez and María Isabel Angulo, and of two indigenous people in the San Pedro village, in Santander de Quilichao (Cauca). And in October 2023 he was in charge of the murder of two patrol officers assigned to the Toribío Police Station.

The operation with intelligence from the National Police is in compliance with an arrest warrant for the crime of aggravated conspiracy and terrorism issued by the Prosecutor’s Office.
