CÓRDOBA, June 24. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The researcher from the University of Córdoba (UCO) Ana Andreu will participate in the show ‘She and science’ in the second edition of this event organized by the Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral (Espol) of Guayaquil, in Ecuador, which will be held on on July 6 and has, for the first time, the participation of a researcher from the UCO.

As the Córdoba university institution has indicated in a note, ‘Those who tell science’, the scientific dissemination show made by women organized by the Scientific Culture and Innovation Unit of the University of Córdoba since 2018, crossed the puddle by inspiring ‘She and Science’, a similar show organized by the Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral de Guayaquil.

‘Them and science’ was celebrated for the first time in 2023 with love as the common thread of the talks by the participating communicators, inspired by the 2022 edition of the UCO event, which was titled ‘Love, love, love’.

In this second edition titled ‘A look at climate change’, which will be held on July 6 in Guayaquil, ten researchers from different areas will address the challenges that climate change presents for environmental conservation.

The researcher of the Fluvial Dynamics and Hydrology Group of the María de Maeztu Excellence Unit – Department of Agronomy of the University of Córdoba Ana Andreu will be one of the disseminators who take the stage of ‘Them and Science’, reinforcing the twinning of the Espol and the UCO, which began with the advice of the Scientific Culture and Innovation Unit in the design of the activity.

Andreu, who participated in the 2023 edition of ‘Those who tell science’, will share her perspective as an ecohydrologist in a monologue titled ‘Houston, we have a problem’ that will revolve around that part of science that studies the interactions between water and elements. ecosystems.

The researcher will introduce the public in an informative and entertaining way to the processes and methodologies used to obtain information about the health of ecosystems.

With this event, which has the support of the Spanish Embassy in Ecuador, we continue on the path of promoting scientific culture among the general public and making visible the role of female researchers that the University of Córdoba opened in 2018.
