No one is safe from insecurity on the streets, not even public servants. Proof of this is what happened to the councilman of Bogotá, Julián Felipe Triana, who was the victim of an assault last Sunday, June 23, in the early hours of the morning. In the event there were blows and shots in the air, they wanted to steal the vehicle.
The robbery would have occurred in the Modelia neighborhood, located in the west of the Colombian capital, there, according to the Green Party councilor, around 3:30 in the morning, five men approached him on a motorcycle and in a black sports car and with firearms they made him and his companions get out of the vehicle.
According to Triana, “One of them pointed at my head with just a few centimeters of distance inside the car and once outside, the other pointed at my chest and then, with the same gun, gave me a forceful blow to the head.” The concilor Others highlighted that he traveled through that sector frequently and even grew up there.

According to what the councilor said, the criminals grabbed his wallet and cell phone and asked him to give them control of the car. They took out the person who was in the driver’s position, however, they could not take the car.
“They violently expelled the person driving the vehicle and when one of them was already sitting in the driver’s seat and had closed the door, something went wrong”Triana published through his social networks, also saying that after that, an unarmed guard generated an alert in the sector, something to which the criminals responded with three shots.
The robbers, according to Triana’s story, left with their belongings but without the vehicle, which apparently was their main objective. The councilor and a companion were injured by the blows inflicted and were treated at the Fontibón Hospital.

Triana expressed her astonishment, acknowledging that she had never had a firearm pointed at her, and that she thought she was going to die.
“I thank fate with all my heart for every thing that went wrong for those criminals and for every prayer of the people who love us and who yesterday saved us from leaving early. I have already filed the respective complaints, do not pay attention to strange requests made in my name.”was the call that Julián Felipe made on his social networks, where he requested that justice be done.
The councilor has already received voices of support, one of them was from the mayor of Bogotá, Carlos Fernando Galán, who regretted what happened and expressed that the Bogotá Metropolitan Police and the Security Secretariat are doing everything possible to find those responsible. .
”Councilman, I am very sorry for what happened. “No one in Bogotá should have to experience events like that, much less feel afraid for their life.”was what Galán trilled in his account of X.
Colonel Óscar Forero, spokesperson for the Bogotá Metropolitan Police, also spoke about the case, reporting that they intensified security in the area to prevent similar events in the future.
According to Forero’s statements to the media, the Police will carry out an exhaustive investigation by collecting evidentiary material and analyzing videos from security cameras to find those responsible.
