After the indictment of the 6 detainees accused of the disappearance of Loan Danilo Peña, the prosecutors investigating the incident gave a conference in which they pointed out the man from San Juan, Carlos Pérez, and his wife, María Caillava, as the organizers of the kidnapping.

The pertinent evidence gives rise to the hypothesis that the former military man from Jáchal and the municipal official from 9 de Julio, Corrientes, “organized the disappearance” of the 5-year-old boy. For this reason, they are currently accused of the crime of recruiting people for the purposes of aggravated exploitation, as material co-authors.

At the conference, the first to speak was prosecutor Juan Carlos Castillo, who recounted how the investigation began after the 5-year-old boy disappeared and gave details about how the case is progressing. “On Thursday they told us that he had been lost and the search began, also with the neighbors. On Friday I went to the town of 9 de Julio and at that time the signal was poor. I contacted the people of Alerta Sofía, I asked the parents of Loan for authorization to do so. publish the photo of the child,” said prosecutor Castillo.

In the same way, he pointed out: “From the first moment we did not rule out any of the hypotheses. We have dedicated ourselves to finding the child.” He also explained that he activated the yellow alert to Interpol to warn of the situation at the different borders.

“There is sensitive information that we will not be able to say because it will compromise the success of the investigation. There are things that cannot be said because they are strictly confidential,” he remarked.

In addition, he referred to the arrest of Commissioner Walter Maciel, who was initially in charge of the search: “We have noticed inconsistencies. We understood that there was an obstruction in the investigation.”

Likewise, he considered that there is an “organizational responsibility” in the marriage of Caillava and Pérez to carry out the disappearance, which occurred on the afternoon of Thursday, June 13.
