The Board launches a line of rental aid of 1.9 million for 540 beneficiaries in vulnerable situations in CórdobaCORDOVA

The Ministry of Development, Territorial Articulation and Housing has launched a new line of rental aidr for an amount of more than 17 million euros to assist people who are in a particularly vulnerable situation. The Official Gazette of the Junta de Andalucía (BOJA) has published the extract and order of the call for subsidies, the amount of which has increased compared to previous editions. Specifically for Cordova1.9 million euros have been allocated for 540 beneficiaries.

The Minister of Development, Rocio Diaz, estimates that this aid “will reach some 4,800 Andalusian families who are truly having a hard time.” “The Andalusian Government is committed to these actions that provide a housing solution and we have even complemented this aid, which we receive year after year, with others in which we have the Third Sector as an ally,” he indicated.

Quick housing solution

The call, which is by non-competitive competition, will open in July, just one month after its publication in the BOJA. These aid are aimed at facilitating a quick housing solution to homeless people, victims of gender violence, victims of eviction from their habitual residence, victims of trafficking for sexual exploitation and other families in a situation of special vulnerability accredited by the social services or the corresponding local administration and who have difficulties in meeting the payment of the rental income of your habitual residence.

For this call, eligible expenses may be allocated for the period between January 1 and December 31, 2024. The applicant will determine in their application the start and end dates of the action, taking into account that the total amount of The subsidy must not exceed 6,000 euros. Beneficiaries will receive one hundred percent of the subsidy in a single payment method.

Applicants will have to be holders of a rental contract for a habitual residence equal to or less than 600 euros per month. This rent does not include the cost of annexes such as parking spaces or storage rooms. The amount can be raised to 900 euros in duly justified cases.

In addition, They must be registered in Andalusia or accredit by means of a certificate from the Local Police that certifies the establishment in the area of more than one year old, except in an extraordinary situation duly motivated by the social services of the Autonomous Community or the local administration.

Habitual residence

Rental housing, likewise, must be habitual residence and permanent property of the applicant, who must not be the owner or usufructuary of a property in Spain (with exceptions, such as non-availability due to separation or divorce). The requirements will be accredited with the report from community social services.

They will not be able to enjoy these subsidies if the landlords of the home are a public administration or a public company or if there is a first or second degree relationship of consanguinity or affinity with the landlord.

The Ministry of Development, Territorial Articulation and Housing is therefore betting on a line of aid that registered a notable demand in 2023, when 2,441 grants were resolved for more than 13 million euros. Taking into account that each aid serves a family unit made up of an average of three members, 7,323 people have been assisted during the past year.

Live in Andalusia Plan 2020-2030

These aids are framed in the Live in Andalusia Plan 2020-2030 of the Junta de Andalucía, which includes among its strategic lines addressing residential vulnerability through aid for rent payments. To achieve this, programs like this one are designed, which establish two lines of collaboration: this call for aid to individuals and a line of collaboration with Third Sector entities that work in the field of housing, channeling aid for the payment of up to one hundred percent of the rent.

Regarding this last line, the Ministry of Development and Territorial Articulation already opened last April the last call for aid to Third Sector entities, with an amount of 1.5 million euros. Each grant to these entities had a maximum endowment of 250,000 euros, taking into account that this is a maximum amount of 600 euros per month for each home. In duly justified cases based on updated studies of the housing supply, the rental income or established transfer price may reach 900 euros per month, and up to 200 euros per month to cover community expenses.
