A family from Córdoba that arrived last Monday at the new Provincial Maternity Hospital gave birth to quadruplets, who are in good condition and remain hospitalized in therapy due to their low weight.

According to the director of the establishment, Luis Ahumada, it is a family that already had four daughters and now added four other members: three new girls and a boy.

The little ones born in the Maternity Hospital are Laura, who weighed 1,300 kilos, Angline (1,425), Victoria (1,370) and Jonás (1,675).

The story of the quadruplets who were born in Córdoba

“The three girls shared a placenta and the boy had his own placenta and pouch. They were born at 30 weeks. “We wanted to get to 32 weeks, but we didn’t make it,” he told The twelve.

“In these cases, a cesarean section is always performed,” he specified and detailed that the births took place at 6 p.m. on Monday.

“The parents were expecting a boy, but three more girls showed up. This family will now be left with seven girls and one boy,” she added.

They are all in good condition, although they remain under observation due to their premature, spontaneous birth.

Meanwhile, the mother, about 30 years old, is in intermediate therapy, in good condition.

This is a family that lived in Patagonia and decided to move to Capital when they received the news that they would add four more members.

Ahumada valued the professionalism of the medical team that participated in the births and highlighted the possibility that an institution like the Maternity Hospital can face this type of practices.

And he explained the uniqueness of the event: “It occurs in one in every 700 thousand births. According to statistics, we should wait another 100 or 120 years to have the same case, they are assisted reproduction techniques.”
