The accident occurred on Friday, June 21 at midnight on the South Highway, in the Quintanares sector, Bogotá.

A young man identified as Julián Rincón, 22, tragically lost his life in Soacha when a truck transporting cement ran over him while he was trying to avoid a bus. Apparently, no one helped him.

Versions state that Julián was traveling on a motorcycle and performed a maneuver to avoid a bus that braked suddenly. Unfortunately, in doing so, he ended up being run over by the truck which was apparently travelling at high speed.

The truck driver continued on his way without providing help, as did the bus driver. A sister of the victim told City TV that, “The truck driver noticed the accident because the motorcycle passed in front of him; he simply avoided the body of my relative and fled, as did the bus. No one helped him, leaving him lying there.”

Julián’s body remained on the asphalt for approximately two hours before being reported around two in the morning by a citizen who took pity on him and his loved ones. The complainant explained that her mother found out about the young man’s death when she tried to contact him at five in the morning.

The family demands justice and asks that the person responsible for the accident surrender to the authorities. They are asking for any information about the vehicle’s license plate or details that could help identify the driver. “Let them take responsibility and, at least, explain what happened”added the mourner.
