A couple from Chubut had quadruplets: “The incidence is 1 in 700 thousand births”

The family is getting bigger! A couple who already had four daughters welcomed quadruplets this Monday at the Provincial Maternity of Córdoba. An unusual fact that surprised everyone, since spontaneous multiple births are very rare.

Three girls and one boy were born in the 30th week of pregnancy by cesarean section. Laura, Angeline, Victoria and Jonas are the names of the new members of the family, which now has a total of eight siblings, of which four are daughters, so one of the new newborns could request the “Presidential patronage“, in this case under the mandate of Javier Milei.

The parents, natives of Trelew (Chubut)they moved to Cordova upon learning of the multifetal pregnancy. “They did very well in coming to this Maternity Hospital of such magnitude because you have to put together a strategy, logistics, there has to be a team of obstetricians, neonatologists, anesthetists, nursing“said the medical director of the center, Luis Ahumada.

The birth of the quadruplets required a specialized medical team. “The pregnancy was strictly and closely monitored by the fetal medicine team. Everything was reinforced to be able to receive four premature babies together“said Ahumada.

Although the babies are in intensive care, their health is good. The family is very happy for the arrival of the new members and is preparing to face this new challenge with a lot of love and support.

The birth of quadruplets naturally is a very unusual event. “The incidence is 1 in 700 thousand births“said Ahumada, who added that in his professional career he had never seen a case like this.
