Culture Agenda for the last weekend of June

The last weekend of June (Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th), the National Museums and other spaces of the Ministry of Culture offer a varied agenda of activities for all tastes and ages.

SATURDAY 29
BOOKS: Sharing readings | From 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. | Cabildo de Salta National Historical Museum (Caseros 549, Salta).
Educational activity for older adults to share during meetings the group reading of the book El Diablito del Cabildo, by Ernesto Aráoz.

EXHIBITIONS: “Hermenegildo Sábat. Master of Portraiture” | From 1:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. | National Museum of Decorative Art (Av. del Libertador 1902, CABA).
The exhibition pays tribute to the famous cartoonist “Menchi”. Admission is free.

PHOTOGRAPHY: “Malta. Photographic Chronicler of Rio de Janeiro 1905-1906” | From 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. | Mitre Museum (San Martín 336, CABA).
Exhibition of photographs by Augusto Malta de Campos on the old Rio de Janeiro and the major building changes experienced by the historic centre of that city.

GUYS: Play the music, by Anda Calabaza IA at 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 p.m. I Palacio Libertad (Sarmiento 151, CABA).
Anda Calabaza invites you to participate in a music workshop to share with your family. A meeting space designed for the little ones, with songs, dances, orchestras and stories. An invitation to share listening, sound exploration and play, through enriching exchange between children and adults. Suggested age: six months to three years.

ARTS AND CRAFTS: The Argentine Handicraft Market holds a textile fair | From 2 to 8 pm | Borges Cultural Center (Viamonte 525, CABA).
This is the commercial tour of the Puna Network, with excellent artisanal textiles.

GUYS: Mail Art: Workshop under construction I From 2 to 8 pm I Libertad Palace (Sarmiento 151, CABA).
Abran Mancha invites children and families to play, experiment and discover the world of Mail Art. Through different workshops, the idea is to fold, seal, glue and use mail resources to create letters, stamps, landscapes and their own works. Suggested age: from four years old.

GUIDED TOUR: “The Faces of Modern Argentina” and screening of the documentary “The Border Plot” | 3 p.m. | Roca Museum (Vicente López 2220, CABA).
It is the last day to tour the exhibition and participate in the guided tour.

MUSIC and PHOTOGRAPHY: Cycle: Lights of the School | From 3 to 7 pm | Manzana de las Luces (Perú 272, CABA).
Activity in the Manzana de las Luces, organized together with the National Buenos Aires. Las Nanuks, Vicente Venancio, and a photographic exhibition are presented.

WORKSHOPS: The Shapes of Our Roots, for teenagers | 4 pm | National Museum of Man – INAPL (3 de febrero 1370, CABA).

An invitation to witness and experience a live Japanese tea ceremony, officiated by specialist Malena Higashi, to experience with your senses what this practice offers.

CINEMA: Argentine classics IA at 5 and 7 p.m. I Palacio Libertad (Sarmiento 151, CABA).
“The Tango Star” will be screened at 5 p.m., and “Luck Calls Three Times” at 7 p.m.

PERFORMANCE: Stairs to reach the water at 6:30, 7 and 7:30 p.m. I Libertad Palace (Sarmiento 151, CABA).
As part of the Art and Technology programming, the Immersive Room presents Stairs to reach the water, a performance with real-time cartoons by Marcela Rapallo, with original music by Pablo La Porta.

MUSIC: Jodos – Otero – Verdinelli Trio I 7 pm I Libertad Palace (Sarmiento 151, CABA).
On a new date of the Jazz Afternoons cycle, the trio made up of Ernesto Jodos (piano), Sergio Verdinelli (bass) and Mariano Otero (drums) will perform. The concert will be broadcast live on Sonido Cultura radio.

GUIDED TOUR: Special on flags “Flags for a Nation | 3pm | National Historical Museum (Defensa 1600, CABA).
It traces the origin and evolution of the flag based on three key pieces: the Macha flag, used by the revolutionary armies commanded by Belgrano; a flag used by Corrientes forces opposed to the government of Juan Manuel de Rosas; and a flag of the Argentine Confederation that was captured by France during the combats of Vuelta de Obligado in 1845.

PERFORMANCE: Embroidered Music | 6 p.m. | National Museum of Oriental Art (Viamonte 525 2nd floor, CABA).
Live sound performance, around the exhibition “De Crisálida y Flights of Butterfly”, the composer, experimental musician and audiovisual artist, Julián Gómez will create sounds inspired by the rhythm of the live embroidery of the artist Débora Staiff.

MUSIC: Sofia Viola and El Nuevo Ají I 7 pm I Liberty Palace (Sarmiento 151, CABA).
On a new date of the Tardes de boleros cycle, the singer and composer Sofía Viola performs, accompanied by El Nuevo Ají, made up of Leonardo Zumbo on piano, Juane Telechea on double bass and Nicolás Echeverría on percussion.
