Coyhaique.- Two people died, resulting in a traffic accident such as a collision between a tractor-trailer and a double cabin truck, an event recorded this morning on Tuesday on Route 7 south sector by pass, at the access to the city of Coyhaique.
At the scene – for reasons that are the subject of investigation – both mobile phones impacted at high energy, after which both adult males who were traveling aboard the minor vehicle lost their lives at the scene.
Carabineros de Coyhaique moved to the sector next to the ABC of the emergency, informing the local Prosecutor’s Office of this city of the fact, and the attendance of a team from the Traffic Accident Investigative Section (SIAT) was arranged to work at the site of the accident. event.
The Prefect of Carabineros Aysén, Fuad Chaban Vilches, pointed out at the scene that the driver of the cargo vehicle “is shocked by the accident, he has all his documentation up to date. Under adverse weather conditions, the necessary safeguards must be adopted to prevent this type of accident, such as the use of winter tires or chains, coupled with reasonable and prudent driving to avoid loss of control of the vehicle and stopping in time. controlled in the event of an emergency.
“Since January to date, we have had 21 traffic accidents with serious injuries and seven deaths in road accidents, therefore, we must increase safety measures when traveling on the routes,” said the SIAT Officer.
After collecting evidence and once the procedure is completed, by order of the Prosecutor’s Office, the bodies are delivered to the Legal Medical Service.
Until the closing of this edition, traffic is temporarily suspended in the by-pass at the intersection towards the El Claro sector, due to the development of expert reports and the subsequent removal of mobile phones from the site.
