In the early hours of this June 25, a bus from the Libertadores company, with internal number 1032 and covering the Arauca – Bogotá route, collided with several livestock that were on the road. The accident took place near the San Pedro Toll in the Villanueva – Aguaclara sector.
Despite the considerable damage to the front of the vehicle, no seriously injured people were reported among the 40 people traveling on the bus. The passengers were transferred to other vehicles to continue their trip.
The authorities call on farmers to keep the fences in good condition and control the animals in the pastures. Negligence in this regard almost caused a tragedy last night.
Emergency care units arrived at the scene to verify the condition of the passengers. The bus driver suffered bruises on his extremities. Although there has been no official information on the number of livestock affected by the impact or their owner, it is expected that the authorities will carry out an exhaustive investigation.
