The Santa Marta Council held a political control debate, to learn about the current state and future of the District University, the session was attended by the new rector Yoceline Azar, He explained to the lobbyists what he found and what he is managing so that the educational facility becomes operational in the second period of 2024.

“We are signing agreements because, as I said a while ago, there is not a single structured offer that allows a qualified registry to be managed before the Ministry of Education. We must form the professional team that is going to structure these designs, so we are signing agreements, one of They will be with the University of Magdalena, which are our great allies in this process, the entire University team is very interested in the University of the District, which is the University of all of us that was the corporation that approved the year 2022, to go ahead but There are also other universities, we are signing an agreement with a United States University that is very interested in working with us,” said Yoceline Azar, rector of the District University, in the debate of the Santa Marta Council.

“We have been signing agreements that will also help us facilitate their physical headquarters because today and Councilor Mozo asked me, where are they operating? When the feasibility permits were requested from the Ministry of Education, three institutions from Santa Marta were chosen, but we also did the management with the Liceo Celedón and they are very happy to support us so that this second semester we can operate from there the school has a single day , they have the entire afternoon available, the night, the weekend, they have classrooms available, they have a space for the administrative team of the institution to work there,” Azar stated.

“We are going to ensure that from the Lyceum we can work in this second semester of this year while we manage what will be the definitive headquarters of the University, that is what the Mayor is working on, reviewing options to see if we can achieve before July of next year to have already a headquarters,” said Yoceline Azar, rector of the District University, in the debate of the Santa Marta Council.

“It is important to keep in mind that qualified records, the process to obtain one of them takes between 8 and 12 months, so things are a technical, technological career. a professional career, we are not going to be able to offer it at the University before this time that I just mentioned is not viable. I have already made all the arrangements, I have already spoken with the Ministry of Education, we would not have it, there is no way for it to be offered because there is a “a very long procedure that requires visits, verifications, and procedures that must be done before being able to have those records.”stated Yoceline Azar.
