Next June 30 will mark one year since the Michichoa bridge collapsed, leaving more than 13 thousand people in Santa Bárbara de Pinto, Magdalena, facing a serious crisis of connection and development. In this tragic incident, young Breiner Castillo Anillo lost his life.

The residents of this municipality require urgent solutions from local and national authorities, who have not yet fulfilled their promise to repair this vital structure.

Despite the declaration of public calamity by the Government of Magdalena in July 2023 and calls from the Attorney General’s Office, no effective measures have been taken to resolve the situation. The lack of a functional bridge has exacerbated mobility problems, affecting access to basic services and hindering local economic development.

In a gesture of symbolic protest, residents plan to commemorate this anniversary, underscoring the urgency of rebuilding the bridge. The community reports that current conditions are increasingly difficult, especially with the arrival of rains that could aggravate the situation.
