A structural fire broke out during the early hours of Thursday, June 27, 2024 in a house located in the Chile neighborhood, in the municipality of La Estrella, in Antioquia, where the flames consumed a large part of the structure.

According to the report from the public, the events occurred in a house where a woman identified as Paula Andrea Peláez lived, along with her 9-year-old son and her pet. The animal accompanied them for eight years, but the smoke from the fire ended up suffocating it.

This news caused a stir in the family and in the neighbours of the area, who knew the dog of this family, who is remembered with much affection by his owners and his loved ones; for this reason, his departure left a deep void, added to the pain of having lost everything.

The relief agencies arrived at the scene, accompanied by the Fire Department of the municipality of La Estrella, members of the mayor’s office and citizens who, voluntarily, came to provide their support to the affected family.

Local media also helped to publicize the case and even managed to contact Paula Andrea, who gave details of what happened. Although she claims that everything was very confusing, she indicated that The flames could have been caused by a candle that was left lit and fell onto one of the pieces of furniture.
