Amazon MGM Studios has released the trailer for My Old Ass, its new coming-of-age comedy, starring Aubrey Plaza and Maisy Stella. The film will be released in theaters on September 13. My Old Ass is written and directed by Megan Park. The film also stars Maddie Ziegler, Kerrice Brooks, Percy Hynes White, Seth Isaac Johnson, Carter Trozzolo, Maria Dizzia and more.
“In this generous retelling of the classic coming-of-age fable, free-spirited teen Elliott (Stella) meets her sarcastic 39-year-old future self (Plaza)—and can’t escape his influence,” the synopsis reads. “On the brink of leaving home for college, Elliott is determined to have one last summer filled with good times and crushes. To celebrate her 18th birthday, she takes a boat to a remote island with her best friends to take magic mushrooms. But just when Elliott thinks she’s not feeling anything, she suddenly finds herself chatting with a woman who claims to be her literal “old ass”—the person she’s apparently destined to become two decades from now. Pressed for advice, Elliott’s future self gives her an important warning: avoid anyone named Chad, which seems easy enough. But when Elliott meets the very Chad (White) she was supposed to avoid, things get complicated.” Elliott begins to open up to what his future self might show him… and vice versa.”
