On this festive long weekend, which runs from June 29 to July 1 and where Saint Peter and Saint Paul’s Day is celebrated, thousands of travelers are expected to travel along the country’s roads.

According to Ideam forecasts, in terms of weather for Saturday and Sunday, a slight decrease in cloudiness and rain is expected in general, while on Monday, a holiday, it is possible that rain will return in large areas of the north and center of the country. In Bogotá, dry conditions will persist in the mornings, the sky will be partly cloudy and sunny, and the trend shows greater cloudiness in the afternoon and evening hours, with the probability of rain in some areas of the capital.

In the capital alone, more than 1,300 units, including Civil Agents, Traffic Police and the Guide Group, will be on the roads during the holiday weekend. According to projections from the Bogota Mobility Secretariat, during this weekend 1,060,000 vehicles will leave and 1,100,000 will enter the city through the 9 exit and entry corridors of the capital.

In Bogotá an average speed of 25 km/h is recorded in the 14 main corridors of the city. In the 9 corridors leaving and entering Bogotá, an average speed of 18 km/h leaving and 27 km/h entering is recorded.

As for the road corridors, at the entrances: 4 of the 9 road corridors register low vehicle capacity. Autopista Sur, Av. Calle 13 and Av. Suba have high capacity, and Av. Calle 80 and Vía al Llano have moderate capacity. While at the exits one of the 9 road corridors registers low vehicle capacity. Autopista Norte, Autopista Sur, Av. Calle 13, Av. Calle 80, Av. Carrera 7, Av. Suba and Vía la Calera have high capacity, and Vía al Llano has moderate capacity.

At this time, more than 405,000 vehicles have left the capital and more than 338,000 have entered.

Projections made by the Ministry of Mobility indicate that for this holiday weekend 1,060,000 cars and motorcycles will leave the city and 1,100,000 vehicles will enter the city.

Antioquia: One lane is enabled on the road between Santa Fe de Antioquia and Bolombolo

According to the Development Concessionaire Vial al Mar (Devimar), the closure of the road between Santa Fe and Cañasgordas in the El Tunal sector (PR 103) continues.

The Metropolitan Police of Barranquilla, through the Traffic and Transportation section, established a road safety device, which will have 7 prevention and control areas, in tourist and emblematic sites of the city.

According to the authorities’ projections, it is estimated that some 170,000 vehicles will travel along the Atlantic roads until this Monday, July 1.

The police institution made the following recommendations: do not drive under the influence of alcoholic beverages. Check the mechanical condition of the vehicle before starting the trip. Always wear the seat belt. Drive carefully and without haste. Do not exceed the established speed limits.

According to the Sumapaz Road Concession, during the development of the Exodus Plan, there is a high traffic flow in the Bogotá-Girardot direction.
