Chia, Cundinamarca. June 29, 2024. Social Prosperity delivered 34 computers to young people from the Renta Joven program in Chía, Cundinamarca, in a ceremony held in the Zea Mayz auditorium.
The Directorate of Articulation and Social Offer of Prosperidad Social, managed the donation of 100 computers in total, with the company Pear Solutions SAS. The remaining teams They will be delivered to other municipalities in the country, for the use of students from higher education institutions and SENA, who are in conditions of poverty or vulnerability.
The delivery of these devices is part of Prosperidad Social’s commitment to the personal and academic growth of young Colombians, offering them tools that help them achieve their goals.
As part of the social promotion and comprehensive well-being actions aimed at its participants, In August 2023, the program launched a pilot of the strategy “Voluntary Impulse”promoting the contribution of young people in solidarity actions aimed at protecting and caring for the environment.
This process was built in a participatory and co-responsible manner with young people, who carried out interventions in environmental action lines (cleaning of trails, reforestation, cleaning of water areas), intergenerational work with older people and improvements to environments and institutional settings (life and day centers, schools, foundation facades), among others.
In recognition of their commitment and effort, the participants were prioritized in the selection of beneficiaries of the computers delivered.
In Chía, through this initiative, young people were involved in accompaniment, pedagogy and environment improvement activities at the Fagua Senior Citizens’ Home.
Youth Income It is the Social Prosperity program that offers a monetary incentive to advance higher education at the professional, technical and technological levels. In addition, it offers strategies to develop skills, through leadership activities and civic culture.
Prosperidad Social manages donations from public and private entities to complement the plans, programs and projects it implements based on the social mobility of the population in situations of vulnerability and poverty, which it serves throughout the country.
