The Teatro Nacional Cervantes (TNC) in co-production with the Ministry of Culture of the province of Salta will premiere on Thursday, July 4 at 9:30 p.m. the play “Like foam of a cheap corso”, written and directed by Natalia Aparicio, at the House of Culture (Caseros 460) in the city of Salta.

With Nico Obregón, Claudia Peña, Maxi Rocha and Nacho Torres (Carnestolenda).

TNC Produce in the country is a program that promotes the development of local artists in different cities of Argentina so that they can be part of the TNC programming beyond its central headquarters.

The work

In a kitchen, a woman, the cook, an admirer of the mythological character of Polyxena, acts out verses by Euripides among pots, pans and garlic, while the threat of male violence is latent. The cook, like so many others, fell into the trap and is pushed towards a sacrifice. She and her others in her then set out towards a single heroic act. She knows that many have left dressed in sorrow, but she also knows that their traces always return, like the foam that leaves only to mislead, like the foam of a cheap Corsican that comes from the sea.
Then the farce ends and surrealism is present, an epilogue where Euripides himself will give his opinion on the work.

The sound design and composition are by Tavo Granados, the lighting design by Carmen María Ruiz de los Llanos, the costume design by Marcos Rodríguez and the set design by Carmen Cornejo.

As corso berreta foam it will be presented from July 4 to August 31 in different towns and cities in the province of Salta.
