Rockland Fest
In a few days we will have the opportunity to enjoy a spectacular weekend, in a small city surrounded by nature, and full of culture, history, good gastronomy… and a lot of rock! The third edition of the Rockland Art Fest festival will take place next Friday the 19th, Saturday the 20th and Sunday the 21st of July, in Santo Domingo de la Calzada, La Rioja, a small but very attractive town in the heart of the Sierra de la Demanda.
The line-up is luxurious: on Friday the 19th we will be able to enjoy, on the athletics tracks, concerts by the eternal Germans SCORPIONS, the Basques SOZIEDAD ALKOHOLIKA, the English CRAWLERS, the Californian duo DEAD POSEY and the experienced Riojans VUELO 505. On Saturday 20 it will be the turn of the British singer MICHAEL KIWANUKA (One of the current references in terms of rhythm & blues, soul and similar, with a vintage spirit although being a “new” artist.«), to the long-awaited Swedes EUROPE, to the illustrious Pamplona native EL DROGAS (finishing, or recovering, or extending as much as he wants his 40th anniversary tour of BARRICADA), to the North American alternatives SHAME and to the young, but already veteran, Riojans OSLO OVNIES.

Children under 10 can enter without paying, and adults can buy two-day tickets (Friday and Saturday) on the festival website and on Ticketmaster. They cost 86.90 euros. In addition, single-day tickets can be purchased, both for Friday 19 and Saturday 20, at a price of 60.50 euros each day. Children under 16 must be accompanied by their legal guardian.
But, in addition, to be able to enjoy the whole weekend, both on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st there will be free rock vermouths, the first day with the Tarragona melodic punk band DA IGUAL and the second day with the Basque-Argentine trio LAS SEXPEARES.
The organizers have thought of everything, especially the numerous attendees they hope to receive from other parts of the country. That’s why they have prepared some “Hotel + Transfer” packs, in none other than the two National Paradores in the city, with guaranteed transfer from the hotel to the festival and back. And they have also booked buses to get to the festival from the cities of Arrasate, Bilbao, Donosti, Eibar, Estella, Haro, Logroño, Miranda de Ebro, Nájera, Vitoria, Zarautz and Pamplona. The issue of parking, if you go with your car, will also be resolved, since a parking area will be enabled next to the festival.
