In the early hours of June 28, a serious traffic accident occurred on the Sibaté-Soacha road, south of Bogotá, which claimed the life of Karen Martínez, a 20-year-old motorcyclist.

Some motorcyclists, who were going at high speed, knocked Karen down and several ran over her, causing her death.
The people accused of being responsible for the accident where the young woman died appeared before the Attorney General’s Office. However, When they arrived at the site, there was no prosecutor, so they will appear again on Tuesday, July 2.
How did the motorcyclist’s accident happen?
Karen and her friend were on a small motorcycle and They were run over by motorcyclists on the road that connects Soacha with Sibaté.
Two of those responsible fell on the road and, Despite being injured, they took their motorcycles, checked the damage and stayed at the scene for a few minutes. Finally, they spoke to each other and fled.

Caracol News Spoke to the victim’s father, Andrés Martínez, and he said that his daughter “He had already saved up to have his motorcycle because he was passionate about the subject. She wanted to join a group and she was smart about saving for her motorcycle, but, unfortunately, the same bikers did this.”
Karen’s father remembers her as a fighter: “A warrior, very sensible, and coincidentally she was going to go to university.”
The victim’s family is asking for justice after the tragic accident that ended his life.
“Seeing that his own colleagues did that to him and running away, I don’t think that is what loyal people do, that they look after their union or that they set an example for themselves. The loyal and honest thing to do at that very moment was to face up to it and the situation would have been different.”he mentioned.
The young woman who was driving the motorcycle, a friend of Karen, is hospitalized in intensive care and her prognosis is reserved.
