The majority of these complaints do not constitute an electoral crime, but were evaluated for referral to the corresponding areas.

During the election day of June 2, the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Electoral Crimes of San Luis Potosí received a total of 60 complaints throughout the State, declared its head Luis Fernando González Macías.

The Prosecutor stressed that, thanks to the effective mobilization of the Public Security corporations, a relatively low incidence was recorded, with the majority of complaints coming from the Huasteca Potosina, although he specified that the incidents were of a minor nature.

Among the complaints received, some are related to the electoral process, but do not constitute a crime of this nature since they are threats and attacks, which upon being evaluated were referred to the corresponding areas of the autonomous entity.

González Macías also mentioned that most of these incidents were received during the day of June 2, but some arrived later through the institutional email.

He explained that during the last elections, the first steps were taken with the presence of Public Prosecutors, who began to compile the relevant investigation files, so the Prosecutor’s Office continues to work on the analysis of the complaints to ensure the correct follow-up of each case in accordance with current regulations.
