Former Argentine midfielder Juan Carlos ‘El Nene’ Díaz died this Saturday in Argentina due to heart complications. Díaz was 66 years old and last week he was urgently admitted to a Buenos Aires clinic and was in intensive care.

‘El Nene’, as he was known, was an excellent player and a great person.

He arrived in Colombia in 1981 and played for several teams including Bucaramanga, Millonarios with whom he was champion, Independiente Medellín, Once Caldas and in particular with Cúcuta Deportivo in 1990 and later he would coach the Motilón eleven in the 2010-2011 seasons, and 2012.

He also played for Deportivo Táchira, with whom he finished his sporting career.
In Cúcuta he was a man much loved by the fans and the people in general, may he rest in peace.
