The ANA members of Holguín held the provincial plenary session of the ANAP with the aim of gathering the concerns of the peasants and thus carrying out the organic process on the eve of the 13th Congress of the organization.
Yoel Palmero Meneses, a national member of Anap, and Diosmanis Cruz Morales, a member of the provincial bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba that deals with the food sector in the province of Holguín, attended the CCS Eugenio González, the venue for the meeting.
Regarding the results of this meeting, Amaury Velázquez Zaldívar, president of Anap in the territory, commented that “in the provincial plenary session, it was also urged to make efficient use of the usufruct lands given to farmers and cooperative members, as well as to proper control of crops, to achieve better productivity in the field and food supplies.”
This meeting was a strengthening for the peasant organization, a structure that has always defended the rights and values of peasants since its foundation.

Among the main topics discussed were compliance with previous plenary agreements, approval of the Provincial Committee’s staff movements and the summary of the process of strengthening the grassroots structures. Also addressed was the analysis of the state of compliance with the actions to promote the fight against crime, corruption, illegalities and social indiscipline.
“Now we are embarking on a path towards the XIII Congress, but in view of this, the first thing we must strengthen is the way the cadres and the different collegiate structures of each cooperative act. We must express the strengthening with results; fulfilling the missions that the organization has, with demand, control and discipline,” said Yoel Palmero Meneses, member of the National Committee of the Anap.
