The “Reccupero” program was carried out at the Eco Punto del Chango Más, located on Paraguay Avenue 1450. This is an action by Cerveza Salta that seeks to raise awareness about the importance of separating and recycling waste, to mitigate its impact on the environment. atmosphere. It was carried out in coordination with the Municipality and the Ceosol Foundation.

This is an initiative that has been carried out for several years, since much of the non-returnable material from the company Cerveza Salta was left in landfills and dumps, so they thought about strengthening the care of the environment. “As members of this city, at Cerveza Salta we thought about the way to recover our material so that it enters the circular economy, hence the initiative that all non-returnable material be recycled”, said Luis Leopolo, sales manager of CCU Argentina.

The action was developed in conjunction with the Municipality, El Súper Chango Más, which provided the space, and the CEOSOL Foundation, which removes all the material, separates it properly to reinsert it into the circular economy. “This allows the people of the Foundation to not only be collectors but also generators of wealth, of new elements and to have a decent salary,” he added.

During the day, neighbors from different points came with their plastic bottles, cardboard and other materials to recycle, then they played a fun game and were able to take a capsule with tree seeds. “The idea is to repopulate the city with trees and greenery, it is an easy and fun game for people to have a good time and also recycle.” “At Cerveza Salta we are always going to try to do new things that benefit the people of Salta,” said the CCU sales manager.

Alliance between CCU, municipality, Chango Más and Ceosol

Meanwhile, the Environmental Education Department of the municipality pointed out that it is important for citizens to know that there are 30 Eco Points in the Capital, where they can take their plastics, cardboard, glass, aluminum material, among others. “There is traceability, regarding the products that leave this point, because there is an alliance between CCU, the municipality, Chango Más and the Ceosol Foundation, which finally makes them enter the circular economy.”

Likewise, the official stressed that this work will help the materials reach the landfill as waste and not as garbage. “Although the landfill is in the process of collapsing, inside we have three organized cooperatives that classify, separate and compact, reuse and re-enter these elements into the circular economy.”

The campaign beyond this Eco Point also seeks to raise awareness about the reuse of plastic bags given out by Chango Más. Along these lines, Ramiro Ragno of Environmental Education of the municipality recalled that the dry waste separation program continues on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Meanwhile, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, it is the turn of wet waste, which is organic and non-recyclable garbage. “We ask citizens to come without any prize, since the environment belongs to everyone.”

“The campaign must overcome any public or political management because the city needs us. That is why we continue with the action of separating, we estimate that only 5% of people are doing it.”

And he added: “That is why we work a lot with girls and boys, who are a generation that teaches adults. Environmental education is a pending issue for Salta. It is important to get closer and we will continue with campaigns, giving a georeferencing of the Eco points, so that people come closer.”
