After 14 years of Law 26,618 being passed, which recognizes the same-sex marriage36 couples have said yes so far in 2024.
They married 14 male and 22 female couples. There were 17 couples who decided to tie the knot at the Central Civil Registry, while 19 opted to legalize their union at one of the Community Participation Centers (CPC) located throughout the city of Córdoba.
If we compare the figure with the same semester in 2023, we can see that the number increased, since 33 couples got married last year.
Unlike 2024, the highest number was among men: 17 couples sealed their union, while the remaining 14 were women.
Like opposite-sex couples, same-sex couples have the same rights and obligations arising from the marital union, regardless of their sexual orientation or composition.
Every June 28, International Pride Day is celebrated around the world. This date commemorates the fight that members of the LGTB+ community are still carrying out so that we are all equal before the law in respect, inclusion and recognition.
