Federal forces search a garbage dump after the aunt’s confession

Following the statement by Laudelina Peña, Loan’s aunt, officers from the Federal Police and the Province of Buenos Aires are carrying out a search of a garbage dump with a special drone.

During her statement, Laudelina Peña confessed that the couple – who are detained – ran over the baby in Catalina’s house and reported that they threatened to kill her. She also indicated that they loaded her body into the vehicle.

Specialized PFA personnel arrived minutes before 3 p.m. to comb the 9 de Julio dump that had never been inspected during the first 15 days of the search for Loan Danilo Peña.

In addition to the officers, a special drone and trained dogs are used to detect remains. The UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) used is a JOUAV CW100 from the Buenos Aires Police. This drone is a specialized search equipment. It has a long range (100 kilometers), autonomy of 10 hours and has thermal sensors.

This modern device, which the police are using to search for the boy who disappeared 15 days ago, has a wide-angle lens, 30x zoom, a laser tracking rangefinder, and can transmit, within a radius of 10 kilometers, real-time images captured by its day and night camera.

According to the Police of the Province of Buenos Aires, this drone with the latest technology worldwide is commanded from a 911 system trailer and is ideal for surveillance and crime prevention. In addition, due to its range, coverage and equipment with sensors, it is also used to control livestock.
